Peterbilt Model 589
The new Peterbilt Model 589 represents the blend of tradition and innovation, a true connection to Peterbilt’s heritage that projects quality, elegance and precision. It carefully maintains the legacy and appeal of the Peterbilt Model 389, but features bold enhancements such as the Huck-bolted aluminum hood, wraparound aluminum grille crown with stainless steel grille, 15” external air cleaners and 7” dual exhaust stacks. Designed to be a premium Class 8, on-highway work truck, the Model 589 offers best-in-class uptime and serviceability that gives owners a competitive total cost of ownership.
The Model 589 features iconic Peterbilt pod headlights as well as LED daytime running lights and heated West Coast-style mirrors that provide added visibility and safety for drivers. The luxurious interior is available in two trim levels – premier or platinum – that come with premium finishes that ensure best-in-class driver comfort. Plus, the Peterbilt Model 589 is available in a 121” or 131” BBC and can be configured as a day cab or a 44”, 58”, 72” or 80” low- or high-roof sleeper. For the powertrain, the Model 589 comes with the option for a PACCAR MX-13 or Cummins X15 diesel engine paired with a lineup of heavy-duty transmissions from PACCAR, Eaton and Allison.
